Slingo actually started life as a social media game but was acquired by Gaming Realms in 2015 to develop for the online gambling market. The Slingo game typically features a 5x5 numbered card located above a reel of five columns. For the base game you receive a number of spins of this reel. This typically is 10 or 11 but it can vary from game to game. Each spin of the reel reveals numbers or symbols - wilds/jokers/devils - that can be used to cover the game card. If the numbers on the reel match those on your card then they're crossed off with the aim to complete lines. A game card can have up to 12 lines (full house) known as Slingos and these comprise of horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. The more lines that you cover during a round then the higher the prize that can be won.

Slingo differs from a slot as players are often offered opportunities to play on once they've completed their round of all spins and additional free spins. Playing on involves making an extra wager but you'll be advised how much you could win by playing on. The game also boasts an element of strategy. What Happened To Slingo Boom?
A multiplayer version of Slingo, Slingo Boom was also launched by the people behind the game. The aim of this game was to bring the fun of a bingo room together with the Slingo game. However, despite offering players access to multiple free to play games it sadly didn't pick up enough interest and was dropped from the roster at sites such as Spin Genie. Sadly the original group of sites that offered Slingo, Spin Genie, Pocket Fruity, The X Factor Games, have all closed down. Slingo.com that was also part of the group has survived but has new owners.
The good news is that you don't need to visit just one brand to play Slingo. The game has been adopted by a number of brands including Foxy Bingo, Gala Spins and many Dragonfish brands. When I first started working in online bingo over a decade ago, I told my friends and family and almost every single one of them said to me, 'Oh, you work for Foxy Bingo?'. I didn't of course, but the name was so synonymous with online bingo, even people who had never played knew the name. This was thanks in part to a huge TV advertising campaign that lasted for years (and various dance numbers).

It used to run on Dragonfish software but now it uses GVC's own software, Electraworks, which is based on the original Cozy Games bingo platform which the company bought in 2017. Since then the bingo games have been massively improved, even introducing some exclusive new variants not found anywhere else.
Foxy is now genuinely one of the nicest looking bingo sites around, with enough going on to keep most players coming back for me. I highly recommend it as one of my best bingo sites of 2020.
